Vidura
As a part of my research with the Innovation Diffusion Lab at Texas Tech, I lead the usability testing on a search engine designed to help medical researchers locate and summarize papers on immunology. Additionally, I led a redesign of the front end based on feedback and created the logo currently used by the team.1. Usability Testing
Medical students (N=15) were asked to complete three separate tasks on either Vidura or Google Scholar. These tasks were designed to address previously identified issues with research search engines. User performance was measured quantitatively in terms of clicks and search time. Perceptual feedback was captured through a survey.2. Redesign Mockup
Based on the feedback provided by participants, I created a wireframe concept in Figma which was provided to our computer science team at the University of Missouri. All depicted functions are currently integrated into Vidura.
3. Logo Design
While awaiting approval from the MU team regarding the redesign, I was tasked with conceptualizing a logo for the project. I was prompted to center the logo around the titular Vidura, from the Hindu story “Mahabharata”.
Concepts created with the assistance of generative AI.
